The Wedding Vows Challenge

I Lisa take you Brian to not just be my husband for life but also my Boyfriend For Life! You are truly my shoulder to cry on, my protector when scared, and my counselor when problems arise. I would have never dreamed that 11 years ago when we said I do that we would have moved 7 times and a few of them in the state of SD. This has been a great ride so far with you. We have three beautiful children God has blessed us with. You are an awesome husband and an awesome dad. I love how you lead our household to serve God and put God first in everything we do. I promise (I know we are not use that word in our house as the girls would say) to always be by your side even when we don't agree, even when we are getting on each other's nerves, and we both stumble with things from our past. I have seen how God has molded you in the past 11 years and can't wait for the years to come to see how closer we are to each other and to God. May we be a couple of example to others we come in contact with. May our testimonies never hurt us but help others who are going down the same roads that we have traveled in our past. I love you more than I ever thought I could love one person. You are truly my Soul Mate, My Friend, My Partner for Life.

I Linda take the man God has chosen for me as my wedded husband. I don’t know what life will bring us or when you will come into my life, but whenever and whatever comes our way I promise to hold our Marriage with the upmost respect and chose to love you all my life. I will be the Godly women God has shaped me to be and be the best wife possible. I promise to always keep God First in our lives and in our marriage. I will serve God with you and stand with you wherever God may take us. I promise, if God blesses us with children, to be the best mom I can be. I promise to always take in consideration your feelings even when I may not agree. I promise to always kiss you good night and never leave mad. God bless the time when we do meet and let it be the timing you had planned.

Lesley and I took our vows before God 15 years ago (November 20th,1993) when I (Dave) was not a Christian. I know that God had a plan for us, because he knew that even though I had not accepted him yet that he had sent me the most beautiful woman in the world (both inside and out) to help me find him. We renewed them again on our 10th anniversary at CrossLink and I never thought that it would be possible that another 5 years later that I love her even more than I did then.

I Dave take you Lesley to be my wife,my best friend , my biggest cheerleader and supporter. I promise to always Love you even when you seem unlovable and vice versa. I promise that no matter what that I will live my life for God and live my life for you and our boys.I can't believe that I am adding an S to boy, we have lived so long as a family of three that God decided to bless us with another son. I look at Christian and I see so much in him that I can't wait to see him as a big brother. You are a true woman of God and I thank him for you everyday,I thank him for sending you to me and giving me the opportunity to live my life for him. I promise to be there for you no matter what and to try not to get on your nerves so much like I know I do. I love you with all my heart and soul and I fall deeper in to love with you everyday. God please bless our marriage and our family.

Ok...now I have to work even harder on mine. That was very sweet! I love you so much. I am glad I chose to chase you 11 years ago till you were hooked on me.

First of all, a quick story: We were talking about our vows at lunch today, and Shelby, our 6 year old girl, said she knows her vows... "A, E, I, O, and U!" Thought you'd enjoy that.

Now for BRIAN'S vows:

I, Brian, take you, Lisa, to be my lawfully wedded wife,
and I promise to stick by you and stick up for you as the amazing person you are, even when I don't always agree 100% with you,
I promise to try my best to work out those times when we don't see eye to eye and promise to do my best to remain patient when we just can't agree,
I promise to forgive you every time you say sorry, even when it's the 8 millionth time I've dealt with the same problem,
I promise to say sorry every time I screw up, even when it's the 8 millionth time you've had to deal with the same problem,
I promise to include you on every major decision, and with God, to make the best decision possible for our entire family with you at my side,
I will love you and hold you and cherish you every day, because I know I don't deserve you, but God gave me a gift, and you are that gift,
I will never, ever, ever leave you, and divorce will never be an option for me, because once again, I want to always respect the most amazing earthly gift God has give me,
When you're not strong enough to stand, I'll hold you up, and when I'm not strong enough to stand, I'll fall to you, and we'll both seek God's strength to hold us up together, because we are a unit in His eyes,
And finally, none of these promises are based on any preconceived idea of what you're going to do for me, and nothing you do will make me swerve from these promises, but I know that in the end, my life will be better because you're in it, and God helping us, we will be a light in a dark world, and will honor Him through our marriage.

Oh, and may I add to my daughter Shelby's vows: "And sometimes Y."
