First Pickerington Blog

I just want to start out by saying thank you so much for expressing an interest in what's happening with the Pickerington church plant.

New Year's Resolutions... Really?

Do you ever make New Year's Resolutions? If you have, did you keep it? Most people I have spoken with about resolutions say they do not keep them. But why? I have heard a few reasons:

Looking Back... Anticipating Forward

It's been an exciting year at CrossLink... and sometimes we move on so quickly...

What can I do for you?

As I sit down to blog this evening I realize that it is 7:30 at night and I have had a busy day and I am up and on the road first thing in the morning to go to a meeting that is going to take from sun

Financial Peace - The killer phrase, "I think I have..."

Math is so left brained. Facts and rules and actual values are trump in the world of the mathematician. For the average right-brained person it just doesn’t seem fair that something would be intolerant of all the creative opportunities.

Freak of Week

Scott and TomScott and TomA few months ago I was reading another pastor’s blog (I can’t remember who) in which he did a regular posting of what he called the “Freak of the Week”. In it he picked a person that was doing awesome things with their lives and he highlighted them and celebrated their contribution to his life and Church. I loved it so much that I have decided to steal it and do my own version from time to time. Keep checking back and maybe you will be surprised to find someone you know on here or maybe even you will see your name some day!

The Ultimate Gift

It feels great to know that you are loved. Nothing says “I love you” more than when someone goes out of their way to let you know that they care about you. It is the sense of value that you have when you realize that someone did something for you just because they care not because they have to. I know that feeling well. I am lucky enough to have a wife, kids, parents and friends that have all done these things for me. However, none of them can compare to the way it makes me feel when I stop to consider that the creator of all things came to my world to show his love for me.
The greatest Christmas gift ever given was the gift of value given on that first Christmas night. It was God saying, “I value you enough to go out of my way to be with you. I am going to make myself available to you. I am going to know your life and meet your needs. I will be close to you…because I love you and you are the most valuable thing in the universe!”
